Small but mighty! She may be the littlest member of our pack, but Ginger is also the alfa dog. Taking up the charge as the “fun police”, Ginger will alert Poppy when the pack energy becomes too amplified. She is a fair leader, but will not hesitate to put other dogs in their place if the do not respect boundaries. When Giger is not on the job, she is a sweet and sensitive canine, who likes to let loose once in awhile and roll in horse poop.
Cowboy is the best cuddler in the world. He’s a perpetually happy little guy with a very amiable disposition, and he will even smile when he says hello. Cowboy is neutral territory and great at being the “friendly face in the crowd” for insecure dogs. When Cowboy is not vying for snuggles, he’s typically hunting mice like any good barn cat.
Ace is a level-headed, sensible guy, who is exceptionally smart and responsive. He loves to fetch, has unparallel stamina and will play for hours with willing participants. He has a very steady demeanour and projects a clear but calm energy with every new dog that comes for training.
Tyson is the definition of a ham! He loves attention, is full of life and has a heart-of-gold. As the tallest dog in the pack, Tyson has a big presence, but is also balanced and obedient acting as a great reference point for our training dogs. Like a typical teenage boy, Tyson’s only vice is wanting to eat everything and anything in sight (it’s a work in progress).
Dukey was client surrendered. He came to Source K9 with significant human/handler aggression and was nearly untouchable. He has a dominant energy and can be somewhat stand-offish initially, but he is becoming more laid-back and now finds enjoyment in human affection. Dukey is very loyal and solid as a rock with training dogs, which similar to Ginger, helps instill boundaries.
The baby of the bunch, Connor is another owner surrender who has found his way into our pack. Conor is young and constantly testing boundaries, so in many ways he is in a similar place in his education as many of our training dogs. He is very useful in demonstrating impulse control and obedience. Connor is smart, cheeky, tender-hearted and also has a goofy side.
